In this moderated conversation, Prof. Karthik Ramanna, author of the just-published book The Age of Outrage: How to Lead in a Polarized World, will explore the unique challenges and opportunities for business leaders as they navigate today's polarized landscape. Prof. Ramanna will share insights on how corporate leaders can address stakeholder tensions, build bridges across diverse perspectives, and cultivate the resilience needed to lead effectively amid anger and ideological divides. He will offer insights on organizational purpose and values, reputational risks, constructive engagement and collaborative problem-solving.

Speaker

Karthik Ramanna is a Professor of Business and Public Policy at the University of Oxford's Blavatnik School of Government and a fellow at St. John's College. He is an expert on business-government relations, sustainable capitalism, and corporate reporting and auditing, with a focus on how organizations and leaders build trust with stakeholders. Ramanna's upcoming book, "The Age of Outrage: How to Lead in a Polarized World," offers a practical framework for leaders to navigate the challenges of managing in an increasingly polarized world, drawing on case studies from organizations such as IKEA, Nestlé, and the Vatican. Prior to his position at Oxford, Ramanna taught at Harvard Business School.
