Lisa Sanchez-Corea Simpson

Lisa Sanchez-Corea Simpson is the Director of the Corporations and Society Initiative (CASI) at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Lisa oversees the planning and execution of CASI’s events and programs throughout the academic year while working to amplify CASI’s mission-based focus to a wider audience of students, alumni, academics, policymakers, and journalists. CASI is a faculty-led initiative that engages with students and visiting experts on issues at the intersection of markets, business government, and society to promote more accountable capitalism and governance.

Prior to joining CASI, Lisa founded the Global Fund for the Forgotten People and served as its Chief Executive Officer for over a decade. The Global Fund provides financial support for the Order of Malta’s charitable efforts, working closely with donors and grantees to improve the lives of millions of disadvantaged people in more than 90 countries. Lisa has also held a variety of leadership positions at major media companies. She served as Director of Business Development at NBC News, leading the creation of MSNBC, and then as President and Chief Operating Officer of the digital divisions for both Sony and Viacom CBS News. Lisa began her career in Washington DC, including roles on Capitol Hill and in the White House, and as a Presidential appointee to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Lisa received an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration and a BA in Political Science from the University of Southern California. In her spare time, she advises business and non-profit enterprises, with a special focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
