Bank Ownership and Consolidation

The Federal Reserve proposed relaxing the criteria that defines whether an investor owns or controls a bank. CASI’s leadership filed a comment letter opposing this change, and urged the Fed to devote its time and resources to studying and addressing the concentration of ownership and ongoing trend of consolidation in the banking industry.
