Rules Restricting Excessive Borrowing

The Federal Reserve proposed a rule that permits some of the largest banks that manage institutional money to take on additional leverage without it counting against regulations that cap banks’ debt. CASI’s leadership filed a comment letter in opposition to this change, and urged the Fed to use other authorities to address the risks presented by so-called systemic “custody banks.”
